Hi there! I’m Gabriela, but please, call me Gabby. 💕
Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, I’ve now found myself calling Toronto home. With a degree in Mass Communications and over ten years as a Marketing Specialist, I’ve always been driven by one thing: creating and sharing. Even as a kid, I loved bringing ideas to life through colouring books, puzzles, and stories, each crafted with joy and a little bit of magic to share with others. It’s a passion that’s followed me into adulthood and continues to guide me today.
Growing up in Venezuela, I was surrounded by beauty standards that led many girls toward the world of pageantry and modelling. I even dabbled in modelling myself during my teenage years. But deep down, I realized that the “traditional model” life wasn’t for me—there was just something about it that didn’t fit. I wanted to embrace community and connection, not competition, which eventually inspired the concept behind ‘Not Quite A Model.’
This blog is an extension of that vision. ‘Not Quite A Model’ plays on the idea that I’m not a model in the fashion sense, nor do I want my content to act as a “model” or blueprint for others. Instead, this space is all about exploration, joy, and authenticity. Life isn’t one-size-fits-all, and that’s the beauty of it! My hope is to share a journey of womanhood with you—a journey that celebrates experimentation, self-care, and creativity without the pressure to be “perfect.”
Here, you’ll find real conversations on everything from cutting your own hair, discovering new beauty products, navigating body changes, and tackling mental health. No topic is off the table, and I’m so grateful for this chance to connect with women all over the world who are just as excited to live life authentically and fully.
Thank you for being here! I hope you find inspiration, support, and maybe a little courage to break the mold and live life on your own terms. Here’s to embracing womanhood together.
Much love,
Gabby ✨
